The International Swimming Hall of Fame today announced results of the International Selection Committee’s vote for the Class of 2014. Led by Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, this year’s class of 12, represents eight different nations.

Denver Women’s Swimming and Diving Hosts Air Force

“We’re glad to be hosting Air Force women this weekend,” head coach Brian Schrader said. ”I think they are one of the most improved programs in Division I over the last three seasons and they are going to be some great competition for us Saturday.”

ACC Swimmer of the Week Accolades go to Jonathan Boffa and Alexia Zevnik

Boffa (featured image), a native of Verona, Italy, earned two individual victories in the 100 (44.03) and 200 (1:37.47) freestyle events against Florida State and Georgia Tech to capture ACC Male Swimmer of the Week honors.

NCAA Platform Diving Champion Nick McCrory Earns ACC Diver of the Week Honors

The 2013 NCAA platform diving champion and 2013 ACC Men’s Diver of the Year, McCrory demolished the previous pool records on both springboards Saturday against the Seahawks. He posted NCAA Zone Diving Championship qualifying marks of 445.27 on the 1-meter board and 468.37 at the 3-meter height to sweep both events.

UBC SWIMMING: T-Birds to host Toronto in “Ghoul in the Pool” meet

Local swimming fans are in for a treat on Halloween as the UBC Thunderbirds men’s team hosts the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in a dual meet at the UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver. Dubbed “Ghoul in the Pool,” the meet features the top two teams from last year’s Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championship, where Toronto defeated UBC by a score of 539-524.

Big Splash Awards Week set for late November

The 2013 Big Splash Awards Week will be a weeklong celebration of Canada’s best swimmers and their accomplishments throughout the year. Swimming Canada will be announcing a number of awards including six major individual awards between Nov. 22 and 29.

Lundgren Attempts 80 Mile Sea Of Cortez Crossing for Third Time

Paul Lundgren announced today that on November 5th, he will step into the waters in San Carlos, Mexico for his third attempt at swimming across the Sea of Cortez. If accomplished, it will be a World Record for the longest unassisted swim in history.
