Tyler grew up in a swimming family both his father and uncle where swimmers and are currently coaches in Pennsylvania. In his high school career Tyler was a four time PIAA AA district meet qualifier as well as a member of relay teams that hold his school’s records in both the 200 and 400 free relays as well as the 200 medley relay. Tyler committed to Westminster College in 2014.
Tyler saw best times across the board in his first season at Westminster. At the Presidents Athletic Conference championship meet he swam three best times in his 50 and 100 freestyle events as well as in the 100 breast.
