2017 World Long Course Championships (Budapest, Hungary)
In Budapest, Vekovishchev earned silver in the 800 freestyle relay, splitting 1:45.91 in the final heat.
2018 European Championships (Glasgow, Scotland)
Vekovishchev won silver with the 4×200 free relay and the mixed 4×200 free relay teams. The men’s 4×200 relay finished second behind Great Britain with a lineup of Vekovishchev (1:46.78), Martin Malyutin (1:46.84), Danila Izotov (1:46.86) and Mikhail Dovgalyuk (1:46.18).
In the mixed event, Russia finished second behind Germany with a lineup of Vekovishchev (1:47.10), Dovgalyuk, Valeriya Salamatina and Viktoriya Andreyeva.
2018 World Short Course Championships (Hangzhou, China)
Won gold as part of the 200 medley relay and picked up silver in the 400 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay. Finished sixth in the 50 butterfly (22.60) and seventh in the 200 freestyle (1:42.67)
2019 World Championships (Gwangju, Korea)
Vekovishchev won bronze with Russia’s 4×100 relay team, after swimming the third leg (50.87) in the preliminary heat. Kliment Kolesnikov, Anton Chupkov and Vladislav Grinev rounded out the lineup. Russia went with a completely new lineup for the finals as Evgeny Rylov, Kirill Prigoda, Andrey Minakov and Vladimir Morozov swam a national record 3:28.81.
