Alexandra Lenore Ashworth likes to think of herself as a “swimming nerd.” She originally hales from Portland, Oregon, where she was an age-group swimmer, but did not participate in the sport in high school. Still an avid fan during those years out of the pool, she returned to competition at Sarah Lawrence College, actively helping the institution pursue NCAA Division III status.
Sara Lawrence College
Alexandra specializes in butterfly and cheering louder than everyone else. Senior year, she was team captain and Vice President of the college’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee. She currently swims for Team New York Aquatic, a master’s team that practices in New York City.
When she isn’t obsessing about swimming, Alexandra works for a TV/film production company in Manhattan, writes screenplays, and enjoys other sports such as fishing and skiing, inter alia. Rip City, Timber’s Army, and 49ers Faithful. Her college bio once read that she either wants to be a screenwriter or the next Bob Costas. She’s still undecided.
