On day 3 of the 2017 U.S. Nationals/World Championships Trials, Ress pulled off a slight upset over Olympic backstroke champions Matt Grevers and Ryan Murphy to win the 50 back and secure his spot on the World Championships Roster.
Junya Koga broke his own Asian Record in the men’s 50 back semis in 22.81.
This year’s event, the 29th-31st of January, 2016, has already garnered entries from international superstars such as Laszlo Cseh, Mireia Belmonte, Hannah Miley and Marco Koch, with more big names on the way.
