USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Cooper Cook from Roswell, Georgia has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia for the 2022-23 school year and beyond.

Cook is a junior at Milton High School and the reigning Georgia High School Class 7A state champion in the 200 free. He won the event by nearly 3 seconds with 1:37.56 at the 2021 GHSA 7A State Swimming & Diving Meet in February. He also placed 3rd in the 100 back (49.94) and led off Milton’s runner-up 200 and 400 free relays (20.66 and 44.86). A year ago he was 3rd in the 200 free (1:39.78) and 4th in the 100 back (51.33).
Cook swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club. Immediately following high school season, in which he notched PBs in the 200 free and 100 back, Cook picked up two new LCM times in the 100 free (52.96) and 100 back (59.57) at the Georgia Swimming Long Course Time Trials. In March he scored a PB in the 50m free (24.53) at the Dynamo Long Course Elite Meet. Most recently, he added new bests in the 50 free (20.72) and 100 fly (51.41) at the Georgia Swimming Senior Short Course State Championships. There, he came in 6th in the 50 free, 3rd, in the 100 free, 5th in the 200 free, 7th in the 100 back, and 27th in the 100 fly.
