FORT WORTH – Coming off a strong performance against SMU, the TCU swimming & diving teams will look to continue momentum against Texas A&M on Nov. 5 in College Station, Texas. The meet will begin at 5 p.m.

Last season, the men’s team lost to the Aggies 180-116 while the women fell 178-106. Highlighting the meet for the Frogs on the men’s side was Janis Silins as he won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.22, notching his then-third NCAA B cut of the season.
Piotr Sadlowski won the 100 butterfly with a time of 47.51 and Dusan Babic also took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.01.
On the women’s side, Emma Hultquist won the 100 freestyle and Cayla Prophater clocked a winning time in the 1000 freestyle, with both times placing them on TCU’s all-time records list.
Izzy Ashdown and Connie Deighton both notched Zone qualifying scores on 1-meter with scores of 305.40 and 265.28, respectively.
In the preseason CSCAA Division I polls, the Aggie men were ranked No. 16 while the women were ranked No. 21. Both Texas A&M squads lost their most recent matchup to Texas, with the women losing 180-112 and the men losing 185-107.
Last Time Out
The men’s squad had a stellar meet against SMU, with the men’s team winning 176-124. The women’s team lost 177-123.
TCU won 10 events on the men’s side, which was highlighted by Sadlowski winning two individual events in the 100 and 200 butterfly. He also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team and the 400 freestyle relay team.
Noah Cumby also took first in three events as he won the 100 and 200 freestyles. He also swam with Sadlowski on the first-place 400 freestyle relay team.
Geremia Freri continued his strong start to his freshman campaign as he won the 500 and 1000 freestyles. His time of 9:07.96 in the 1000 freestyle broke his own school record of 9:08.94 that he achieved at the USC Invitational on Oct. 16.
Right behind Freri, fellow first-year Milan Fabian placed second in the 500 and 1000 freestyles. His time of 9:11.27 in the 1000 freestyle put him second on TCU’s all-time records list.
David Ekdahl won both boards against the Mustangs. He scored 347.55 on 1-meter and 337.72 on 3-meter to take first in both events. Both scores earned him Zone cuts.
Emma Hultquist picked up her third win in the 200 freestyle this season as she took first with a time of 1:51.94. Rylee Moore won the 100 backstroke and Olivia Rhodes took first in the 50 freestyle. Both were on the winning 200 medley relay team.
Big 12 Awards
So far this season, six Horned Frogs have won 10 Big 12 weekly conference awards. For the week of Nov. 3, Sadlowski was named Swimmer of the Week, Ekdahl was named Diver of the Week, and Freri and Moore both garnered Newcomer of the Week honors.
