SEATTLE – The Seattle U Redhawks took home a pair of dual-meet wins today, with the men defeating Puget Sound 175-84 and the women winning 176-78 over Puget Sound. The Redhawks earned 20 event wins on the day, including three of the four relays.
Cole Lanting had two individual event wins for the Redhawks, taking the title in the 100 Free (46.68) and 200 IM (1:58.63). Michael Luna also had two event titles, coming in the 200 Free (1:45.18) and 500 Free (4:49.06), where he finished just ahead of teammates Andres Banuelos (4:55.20) and Jaxon Gonzales (4:59.39).
Danika Himes had two event titles of her own on the women’s side, coming in the 100 Breast (1:08.03) and 200 Back (2:10.33). In the 100 Breast, Himes just edged out teammate Kalie Bui (1:08.71) for the title, with Tessa Oliver (1:10.78) finishing in third.
Sammy Mosier kept up her strong season with two more wins. Mosier would have the fastest time in the 50 Free (24.80), where she finished two-tenths of a second ahead of Allison Plamondon, and the 100 Fly (59.90), where she beat out Himes (1:01.78). Plamondon would earn her own event title in the 100 Free with her time of 55.20.
Nicholas Imig won the 50 Free with a time of 21.13, over a full second faster than second place, teammate Tyler Goodspeed (22.18). Imig also finished second in the 100 Free (47.28).
Milan Saric earned his first individual event title of the year in the 100 Fly with his time of 52.32. Saric was also a part of the 200 Free Relay title team, swimming a 1:27.36 along with Connor Barringer, Noa Copp, and Goodspeed.
That was one of three relay wins for the Redhawks. The team of Himes, Bui, Mosier, and Plamondon took the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:51.31. Plamondon was also a part of the 200 Free Relay win, swimming a 1:42.39 along with Emilia Culberson, Audrey Dixon, and Isabella Guadiamos. Guadiamos also won the 200 Fly with her time of 2:16.23.
Manna Nelson earned the event win in the 1000 Free with a time of 11:12.19. Juan Varela won that event on the men’s side, swimming a 10:07.13. In the 200 Fly, Ryan Ascencio took the title with a 1:58.21. Jack Neton won the 200 Brest with his time of 2:12.90, while Maggie Robben finished off the event wins with a 200 IM (2:14.61) title.
The Redhawks will next compete at home in December. Seattle U will host Simon Fraser for a three-day meet, beginning Friday, December 3 at 10:30 am PT.

SEATTLE, Washington – Sara Guillen, Calvin Werts, and Elinor Glass earned first-place swims at NCAA D-I Seattle University Saturday, but the Redhawks beat both the Logger men’s and women’s teams. The Puget Sound men lost by a final of 175-84, and the women lost by a score of 162-94.
Guillen – the reigning Northwest Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week – won the 500-freestyle by touching the wall in 5:21.29. Glass won two races against D-I swimmers. She was first in the 200-freestyle (1:59.78), and first in the 200-breaststroke (2:30.72).
Werts claimed three first-place swims during the men’s dual. He was the top swimmer in both the 200-backstroke (1:58.71) and 100-backstroke (53.92). Werts teamed up with Elijah Grinstead, Jaden Francis, and Brett Kolb to win the 200-medley relay (1:37.15).
The Loggers return to NWC duals at George Fox Friday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m.
