5 from Rutgers Swimming & Diving Lauded Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

The Big Ten Conference announced 54 Rutgers University student-athletes across 17 Scarlet Knight programs were honored on Wednesday with the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award.

Sjostrom Pops a 52 Second 100 Free to Close Swedish Championships.

The final session of the Swedish Championships concluded today in Sundsvall. To Finish off the meet, the women swam the 200 fly, 100 free, 200 I.M., and 1500 free. The men’s action included the 200 I.M., 200 free, and 100 breast.

Lisa Bratton’s Last 100 Carries Her To Gold In The 200 Backstroke (Race Video)

Bratton had the fastest splits on both the third and fourth 50s, the fourth being 1.5 seconds faster than anyone else in the field, and won by a second in 2:09.31, her new personal best by over a second.

Jack Conger Wins 100 Backstroke Bronze On Day 2 Of WUGS (Race Video)

Jack Conger of the USA took the bronze with a 54.09, just off his personal best from two years ago, while teammate Jacob Pebley finished just outside medal position with a 54.22.

Frolov finally overhauled Leliott and pulled away for the win. Frolov finished in 7:50.28 and Leliott in 7:50.97.

Dmitry Balandin Breaks One Minute To Win 100 Breaststroke At WUGS (Race Video)

Another tight race here, but Kazakstan’s Dmitry Balandin used a strong second half to win the gold in 59.96, the 9th-fastest time in the world this year.

Herasimenia Posts a 54 Second 100 Free to Win on Day 2 of Golden Bear Meet

In the first event of the evening, Aliaksandra Herasimenia continued to impress in the sprint events. Her winning time of 54.50 blew away the field. That was her 2nd win of the meet after posting a 24.98 to lead the 50 yesterday.
