Aspen Harris, a current high school senior from Nampa, Idaho, has committed to swim for Division II Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. Harris will graduate from Columbia High School spring 2020 and join the Grizzlies’ class of 2024.
Harris, a backstroke specialist, currently swims for Nampa Swim Team under Coach Sam Burgi. At the 2019 Inland Empire Senior Winter Championships, she placed 1st in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.18. She was also the champion in the 100 backstroke (59.41) at Idaho’s 4A State Championship.
“I am so happy to announce my commitment to Adams State University to continue my swimming and academic career in the fall of 2020! I can’t wait to start the newest chapter of my life in Alamosa, Colorado!”

With her current best times, Harris would have placed 11th in the 100 backstroke (59.06) and 13th in the 200 backstroke (2:08.18) at the 2019 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships with the Grizzlies.
At the RMAC Championships this year, the Grizzlies placed 8th as a team.
