15-year old Rafaela Raurich has swum a 2:00.14 in the 200 meter free at the 2016 Chico Piscina Trophy, a multi-national age group championship meet held in Brazil, which is the fastest time ever recorded for a 15 (or 16) year old in South American history

Raurich, who turns 16 at the end of October, improved upon the old record of 2:00.24 from Maria Paula Heimann.

She was one of many early highlights at the age group championship meet for the Braazilian hosts. Raurich broke a Championship Record in the 400 free as well with a 4:15.03, and Aime Silva Lourenco broke the 50 free category record with a 26.73 – also a Brazilian Age Record.
