Richmond Rapids 13 & 14 Year Old Boys Relay Breaks National Mark

Over the weekend the Richmond Rapids Boys 13 & 14 200 medley relay team broke a 12 year old national mark held by the Markham Aquatic Club. The Rapids quartet comprised of Adrian Hsing, Kevin Ye, Arvin Chua and Alex Ball just dipped under the old record mark of 1:51.33 winning the British Columbia AAA Provincial Championship title in a time of 1:51.31.

  • Adrian Hsing (13) – 30.54
  • Kevin Ye (14) – 29.82
  • Arvin Chua (14) – 27.35
  • Alex Ball (14) – 23.60

The championship competition was held over the weekend at the Canada Games pool in Kamloops, BC with over 600 of the province’s best swimmers participating.

The Rapids record breaking relay contributed to the team’s point total which topped the overall team standings.

Dalton Boone of the Winskill Dolphins Swim Club also broke two Canadian records in the Para-100 and Para-200 freestyle events in the S14 class. Boone recorded a 56.53 in the 100 and 2:03.68 in the 200.
