Jon Rudd, Coach of Ruta Meilutyte, Named British Coach of the Year

  0 Jenny Wilson | September 25th, 2012

The British Swim Coaches Association (BSCA) announced their Coach of the Year Tuesday, awarding the title to Jon Rudd. Rudd coached Lithuanian swimmer Ruta Meilutyte who upset Rebecca Soni to win gold in the 100m breast in London this summer.

When he’s not at the Olympics, Rudd serves as head coach of Plymouth Leander Swimming Club, a successful program in London that has captured four out of its past five league titles.

BSCA gave the disability coach of the year award to Billy Pye, whose two swimmers (Ellie Simmonds and Steph Millward) won a total of nine Paralympic medals in 2012: two golds, five silvers, and two bronzes.
