The 2025 Women’s MAC Championships concluded on Saturday evening, seeing the Akron Zips earn their 4th-conseuctive conference title. The Zips beat runner-up Ohio by nearly 100 points, while Miami (OH) was just 14.5 behind Ohio for 3rd.

Akron ended the meet with a dominant win in the 400 free relay. Felicia Klintemar (49.41), Hannah Trainer (49.26), Adrianna Szwabinska (48.51), and Abby Daniel (48.52) combined for a 3:15.70, breaking the pool record, which Akron had set back in 2020. Another notable split came from Ohio’s Zita Szoke, who led her team off in 48.04, which was the fastest split in the field.

Prior to her swim on the relay, Szoke won the 100 free in 47.89. She broke the pool record in prelims with her time of 48.74, which also set new championship and conference records. Of course, the performance also marked a new program record for Ohio.

Before helping the Akron relay to victory, Abby Daniel took the 200 fly in 1:56.67, winning the race by 2 seconds. She cracked the pool record with the performance, but was about a second off her own championship record of 1:55.50.

Ohio junior Casadie DiBetta won the 200 breast in 2:10.99, narrowly missing the pool record of 2:10.68. She took the lead immediately and was out in 1:02.11 on the first 100, which put her in the lead by a second.

Miami’s Chrisna Bezuidenhout put up a huge performance in the 200 back, winning the race with a 1:54.59. She swam a very consistent race, getting out in 56.52 on the opening 100 and coming home in 58.07.

The 1650 free went to Miami’s Casey Stephens, who swam a 16:45.72. She was locked in a race early in the swim, but pulled into the lead in the middle and didn’t look back.

The final diving event of the meet, 3-meter, saw a rout by Buffalo. Mari Kwak won the event with a score of 329.25, while teammates Presley Dorsett and Sophie Meuwissen came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
