Top-seeded Kaitlynn Sims of Magnolia Aquatic Club has dropped the 1500 free on Saturday. She placed third in the 800 free on Tuesday, then swam in heats of the 400 free on Wednesday but scratched the final. Samantha Pearson of Socal Aquatics has scratched the 50 free, where she was seeded ninth, and the 200 IM, where she was seeded eighth. Pearson swam in heats of the 100 free but not the final, and she was DFS in the 200 back and 100 fly. Other IM scratches include Nova of Virginia’s Grace Sheble (#3), Asphalt Green’s Isabel Gormley (#6), Noelle Kaufmann of Badger (#16), Sean Faikish of North Penn (#3), Badger’s Matthew Fenlon (#7), and Garrett Boone of ATOM (#19). Rose Bowl’s Danny Syrkin (#9) dropped the 50 free.
Gormley, Sheble, and Faikish are all headed to the World Junior Championships in two weeks.
