NCAA Releases Psych Sheets for Division III Championships

The NCAA has released the men’s and women’s psych sheets for the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships to be held at Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas from Wednesday, March 18 – Saturday, March 21. Below are the “pre-selection” lists, which will be used to make the cuts and get the meets under the maximum allowed entries.

A quick look at the preliminary psych sheet tells us that this year’s meet should be as exciting as the 2014 championships. The men’s meet was particularly thrilling last year, as Kenyon edged Denison by 8 points, and Emory secured third place over Johns Hopkins by just 1.5.

The women’s meet had some great performances, but Emory’s depth proved too much for second-place Kenyon, who finished 139 points back. The race for third was more dramatic, as Johns Hopkins beat Denison by 12.5.

Among the invited athletes are current NCAA record-holders Celia Oberholzer of Kenyon (100 back), Kirsten Nitz of Wheaton (100 fly), and Damon Rosenburg of Denison (100 breast).

The 2015 championships are being hosted by the City of Shenandoah, north of HOuston, and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Note these are the “pre-selection” lists…I wonder what the line cut off will look like this year.
I wonder where the line cut off will fall this year. Overall it does look faster than last year in many events.
Based on the preliminary swimming list (haven’t seen diving yet and this could factor in significantly for Denison) Kenyon should win by a much wider margin than last year. Not only do they have more up/downs than any other competitor they also look to have many more who will fall above the line that could move up and score. It looks like a triple digit win for the Lords
