Manchester Set to Face Rose-Hulman

SWIMMING AND DIVING PART OF ROSE-HULMAN TRIANGULAR: It’s weekend two of the 2015-16 season Friday, Oct. 23, as Manchester University joins host Rose-Hulman and Millikin University of Illinois.

Spartan Shorts: Five program records fell during the Black and Gold’s efforts at Kenyon College of Ohio’s Relays Oct. 17. The freshman duo of Mikayla Goetz (Highland, Ind.) and Tyler Brand (Pendleton, Ind.) took an eraser to the 500 yard freestyle record board top spots. Goetz clocked a 6:30.91 for the women, and Brand finished in 5:29.21. The men’s 200 yard medley and freestyle relays also set new standards as did the women’s 200 yard freestyle quartet. Freshman Nichol VanHolten (Auburn, Ind.), sophomore Annika Harley (Madison, Wis.), Goetz and freshman Caleigh Siemers (Lafayette, Ind.) comprised the women’s 200 freestyle (2:08.33); freshmen Quinn Michael L’Heureux (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Nathan Koch (Columbia City, Ind.), Andrew Hinds (Elkhart, Ind.) and Guerby Ruuska (Rensselaer, Ind.) made up the men’s 200 freestyle (1:37.85); and Ruuska, Hinds, Brand and L’Huereux had spots in the 200 medley (1:47.38) … Friday’s meet continues a roll of six straight weekends the Spartans are in action. After hosting Franklin College Oct. 30, they go to Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., Nov. 7; Urbana University of OhioNov. 14; and Ohio Wesleyan University Nov. 21 and 22.

Historic Weekend: Franklin College pays a visit to the Strauss-Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center Friday, Oct. 30, for MU’s first home dual.
