The Florida Gators edged out the Cal Bears in the last event of NCAA’s by the smallest margin possible: .01 seconds. The relay team of Josh Liendo, Adam Chaney, Julian Smith and Macguire McDuff clocked a 2:44.07, a new NCAA and U.S. Open Record. McDuff details what it was like at the end of the relay and what was going through his head in that moment. Chaney shares insight on the Gator relay dominance and Smith talks his first NCAA win.
The Florida Gator 400 Free Relay are all underclassmen and should be faster in 2024! Fun to watch. Thank you Coach Nesty and Gator Crew.
These boys just keep edging each other!
I could tell they were doing their best to hold back but eventually finished at the same time in impressive fashion
thank goodness florida beat the califraudia baby bears otherwise we wouldn’t have heard the end of it

Durden said in his interview he would have loved to win that relay, but it didn’t work out and they were still thrilled. Because they broke a school record and won the meet. So the flack you’re afraid of wouldn’t be coming from cal/cal fans….in fact, I don’t recall cal swimmers or cal fans ever taunting another school bc of a win. As for the fraud name-calling….lol. Ok bro. 😂
Where is Califraudia? In your head neglecting the terms of it’s lease? Is fraudring their roommate? You must understand this is all confusing and difficult for baby bears to wrap their paws around, especially with so many rings getting in the way.
Great response baby bear Peter!
Wow, McDuff was 45.5 and Smith 46.9 in the 100 free when they committed to Florida (according to SwimSwam articles on the commitments). What incredible improvement for those guys!
Naming your kid MacGuire McDuff is one way to guarantee a lifetime’s worth of drip, rizz, and swag. What a legend.
