VIDEO INTERVIEW: 15-year-old backstroker Ethan Young wants Murphy’s NAG records

Ethan Young, 15, of Carpet Capital Aquatic Club is one of the rising young backstrokers in USA Swimming. He took 7th in the 100 back Friday night and ended up 13th in the 200 back on Saturday. Here he talks about his 100 back race and his desire to break the 15-16 National Age Group backstroke records held by current Cal Bear Ryan Murphy.

There are quite a few 14-15-16 boys that have the same aspiration… It will definitely be a battle!

Great goals.
Cool to see all these kids be aware of the records and the record holders. They push each other and the records fall.
