Zijderveld and van der Kulk Set Multiple IPC World Records

The past couple of days have been ones to remember for both Chantalle Zijderveld and Marlou van der Kulk.

On the first day of the Dutch Short Course National Championships van der Kulk (S14) set the world record in the women’s 100 butterfly while Zijderveld (S10) set a new European record in the same event. Today both returned to the pool to break world records in multiple events.

van der Kulk set a new world record in the 100 freestyle posting a 58.81 and adding a world record in the 100 backstroke finishing in a time of 1:05.68. Zijderveld set her marks in the 50 breaststroke where she posted a 34.04 and the 200 IM where she finished in a time of 2:31.24.

They were not the only two to break world records on the second day of the competition. Lisette Teunissen (S3) set a new world record in the 100 freestyle posting a 1:40.29 while Marc Evers (S14) took down the world record in the men’s 100 breaststroke hitting the wall in a time of 1:06.25.

European records were set by Marije Oosterhuis (S10) in the 100 freestyle (1:01.04) and Olivier van de Voort (S10) in the men’s 200 IM (2:11.95).
