FINIS Inc. is proud to announce the signing of Zach Harting

Zach Harting has signed his first major suit deal since completing his collegiate career at University of Louisville in 2019. Zach joins FINIS’ roster of sponsored athletes that includes Olivia Smoliga, Anthony Ervin, Mallory Weggemann, James Guy, and Cameron McEvoy.

“I’m excited to work with FINIS moving forward. I feel we both share a deep love for the water and the various sports it supports, as well as coming up with fun ways to innovate the stroke to find higher success in the sport. Team FINIS!” – Zach Harting

Born in Madison, Alabama, Harting now lives and trains in Louisville, Kentucky. Harting earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering Management, all while swimming for the Cardinals and maintaining a GPA of 3.88.

In 2017, Harting had an outstanding summer season placing sixth in the 100m and 200m fly at the World Championship Trials, giving him a spot on the 2017 World University Games Roster. At the meet, he won a gold medal as part of the 4x100m freestyle and medley relays and was a semifinalist in the 200m and 100m butterfly.

Harting qualified for the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships, his first USA “A” team ever, by finishing second in the 200m butterfly at the 2018 National Swimming Championships. At the Pan Pac Championships in Tokyo, Japan Harting won a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly with a new best time of 1:55.01.

Harting then closed out his final season at Louisville by qualifying for his first individual NCAA A final, finishing sixth in the 200m free with a personal best time of 1:32.24 to earn All-American honors. On June 11, 2019, Harting was announced as a member of the DC Trident ISL team headed by Kaitlin Sandeno. Harting scored a total of 22.5 points for DC Trident in 2020.

“Zach is a really fun and smart guy and is one of the best 200 butterfly swimmers in the world. It has been fun to watch his success continue and we’re hoping to see him earn a spot for Tokyo 2021. Zach also loves the Rival 2.0, our tech suit that was developed with the assistance of our athlete, Anthony Ervin,” said FINIS Co-Founder, John Mix.

Harting is set to compete at the 2021 Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska this June. Keep your eyes out for Zach in the 100m and 200m butterfly, as well as the 200m IM. Swim fast and remember, go #TeamFINIS!
