YSSC’s Jack Frazier Commits to West Virginia Mountaineers

Jack Frazier of Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club announced his commitment to swim for the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

Frazier has posted respectable freestyle times but his butterfly events will contribute to the program which Head Coach Vic Riggs has led for nearly a decade. Upon his arrival in Morgantown, Frazier’s butterfly times could place him in the top five of the Mountaineers’ butterfly class based on the squad’s previous year. Both of the South Carolina native’s fastest butterfly races would have finaled at the 2015 Big 12 Conference Championships, making Frazier a competitive freshman for WVU Swimming come 2016.

“I chose West Virgina because I felt the most at home there.  Once I stepped on campus, I felt like I was already accepted by the athletes and coaching staff as a Mountaineer.”

“I have been fortunate enough to not have any major injuries.  I haven’t always been a sole butterfly swimmer; I hadn’t really found “my stroke” until sophomore year in high school, and even then, I didn’t swim the 200 fly shave-and-tapered until this past April at YMCA Nationals.  Now I consider myself a flyer with sprint thru mid distance freestyle talent too.
