YNats Champ Liz Boyer Verbally Commits to Harvard

Cheshire, Connecticut’s Liz Boyer has made a verbal commitment to the application process at Harvard University.* She adds her name to those of Marcella Ruppert-Gomez, Mikki Thompson, and Samantha Shelton, who have all announced their verbal commitments to the class of 2022.

Boyer is a senior at Cheshire High School, where she holds the varsity swimming records in the 100 fly (55.85, 2015), 100 breast (1:03.73, 2014), and 200 free (1:50.97, 2016). At the 2016 CIAC Championships, she placed fourth in the 200 IM (1:51.20) and was runner-up in the 100 fly (56.38). Boyer further contributed to Cheshire’s 5th-place team finish in the girls’ meet with leadoffs of 24.52 on the 200 free relay and 52.85 on the 400 free relay.

Boyer swims year-round for Cheshire Y Sea Dog Swim Club. She won the 100 breast title at 2017 YMCA National Long Course Championships, going a personal-best 1:12.94. She also took third in the 200 breast (2:38.48), fifth in the 400 IM (5:01.98), 7th in the 200 IM (2:25.75), and 14th in the 200 fly (2:22.06). Finally, she split a 1:12.60 breaststroke leg on the Cheshire Y first-place 400 medley relay.
