DCST (Dekalb) 18-year-old Quinn Cynor continued to have an excellent meet, taking the men’s 200 fly on day 3 with another personal best. Cynor clocked a 1:46.64, narrowly bettering his previous best time of 1:46.68, which he had just set approximately 3 weeks ago. There was a great race in the 200 fly final, with Schroeder Y’s Jack Lustig clocking a personal best of 1:47.24, and Champaign Y’s Andrew Lin posting a massive drop of 1:48.11. Lin entered the meet with a lifetime best of 1:52.98.

Champaign Y’s Reed Broaders continued to post personal bests, taking the girls 100 back with a 53.27. The swim marked a huge improvement for Broaders, blowing her previous best of 55.29 out of the water. Schroeder’s Alana Berlin, 14, posted a 54.21 for 2nd place. Berlin has a personal best of 54.02 in the event, which ranks #35 all-time for 13-14 girls nationally.

Ziyad Saleem, a Schroeder 18 year old, was dominant in the boys 100 back, posting a 46.99. The swim was just 0.01 seconds off his lifetime best of 46.98, which he swam in early February of this year. Schroder teammate Owen Miller took the boys 100 breast with a 55.66. Miller took a chunk out of his previous best time with the swim, coming in well under his previous best of 56.31.

Schroeder 15-year-old Tori Brostowitz took the girls 100 breast in 1:00.94, beating out Champaign Y’s Angela Coe (1:01.25). The swim was Brostowtiz’s first 100 breast under 1:01, and lands her #53 in the all-time rankings for 15-16 girls as just a 15-year-old. Coe’s swim was also huge, shedding more than a second off her previous best of 1:02.58, which she swam in October of 2020.
