Wisconsin Sprinter Victoria Center Announces Commitment to Brown

Victoria (Tory) Center of Madison, Wisconsin has made a verbal commitment to the application process at Brown University.*

“It’s official! I cannot wait to continue my swimming career and education at Brown University. #goBruno!”

Center swims for Badger Aquatics Club in Madison, where she specializes in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Swimming for Madison Memorial High School at last November’s 2015 Wisconsin Girls Division 1 State Championships, Center placed third in the 50 free (23.35) and eighth in the 100 free (52.38). She also anchored both Madison Memorial’s sprint relays: the 200 free relay in 23.43; and the 200 medley in 22.88, the fastest split in the heat by a long shot.

Center notched her best times of the short course season at the 2016 Wisconsin 13&Over Short Couse State Championships. There she was runner-up in the 50 free with 23.28, and third in the 100 with 51.19. She also competed in the 100 back and 100 breast, earning a PB in the former.

Her top times (SCY / LCM) are:

  • 50 free – 23.28 / 26.29
  • 100 free – 51.19 / 59.68

Center will join already-committed Taylor Seaman in the Brown University class of 2021.
