BALTIMORE, MD.- The Tribe swam to a victory in their season-opening match defeating Johns Hopkins 172-90 Saturday afternoon in Baltimore. The Green and Gold won 12 of the 14 events in a convincing victory.

The relay team of Anna KennaAnnie TuttleMaura Graff, and Missy Cundiff took the opening event, swimming 1:45.46. Reigning CAA champion Elizabeth Intihar took first place in the 1,000 with a 10:24.55 time.

Katie Stevenson took home her first win of the day taking first place in the 200 free and Kenna followed with a win in the 100 back finishing just ahead of teammate Kat Vanbourgondien. Tuttle got her second win of the afternoon, touching out Ellie Scherer in the 100 breaststroke.

Missy Cundiff blew away the competition in the 50 free with a blistering time of 23.24 and followed up with a win in the 100 sweeping the sprints. Kenna recorded another win with a 2:05.23 time in the 200 back and Tuttle swept the breaststrokes with the first place finish in the 200 event.

Intihar would take down the opposition in the 500 free with a 5:03.17 time to sweep the distance swims and Corinne Davenport extended the Tribe lead with a win in the 100 butterfly. Stevenson, Intihar, Cundiff, and Kenna capped the day off with a 3:31.65 time to win the 400 free relay.

The Green and Gold will be back in action next week for the first of two consecutive home meets. The Tribe will take on Towson at 1:00 p.m. in Williamsburg.
