WATCH: Chantal Van Landeghem Happy With Trials Results

Chantal Van Landeghem had a very successful run at the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials which qualified her to compete at her first Olympic Games ever.

Van Landeghem finished second in the 100m freestyle to Penny Oleksiak with the fastest in-season time she’s ever recorded. Her 53.91 swim secured her an individual spot in the 100 free at the games where she’ll also play an important role on the 4×100 freestyle relay.

Van Landeghem also won the 50m freestyle where she earned a second individual swim for the meet.
