Watch: Chad Le Clos Reacts To Winning Gold In The 200 Fly

2016 SHORT COURSE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The video below is courtesy of FINA’s youtube channel.

Chad Le Clos successfully defended his 200 fly world title last night, winning the final in a time of 1:48.76, the third fastest in history. He defended the title he won back in 2014 in Doha, and he also won the crown back in 2010 in Istanbul. This was a form of redemption for Le Clos, after failing to defend his Olympic crown this past summer, finishing off the podium in 4th.

It was clear that winning this race meant a lot to him, as he was asked ‘how bad did you want to win it?’, with him replying “oh you have no idea, I’ve been wanting to win a race all year. The Olympics was not so good for me, but I’ll take a short course title and work towards next year”.

Moving forward in the week, Le Clos has both the 200 free final and 100 fly semis tonight, along with the 50 fly and 100 free later on. He is the defending champion in all three butterfly events and the 200 free, and it would be quite a feat if he manages to defend all four. He certainly has a shot to do so. His toughest test will likely come in the 100 freestyle, where he’ll face Vladimir Morozov went on a tear and won eight of nine 100 frees on the World Cup circuit.

Chad le Clos looks like the type of guy who eats pancakes on a meet morning, pretty un smart. I wonder if he looks at what his competitors eat while he eats. That chad is a looker. not in an attractive way, well he is good looking… but that is not what i meant, or is it…. i’ve said too much. conclusion, chad le clos is hot
