Wagner College Swimming and Diving have added another Californian to the roster: Temecula’s Emily Moore will be a Seahawk in 2016-17. Moore will miss record-holding senior diver Erica Curry, also from the Golden State, but she will overlap a year with Katja Claesson of Fullerton when she suits up next fall.
“I chose Wagner because as soon as I stepped on the campus I knew it was for me. Everything about it suited me so well and I can’t wait to go back and spend the next 4 years of my life there!”
Moore is a senior at Great Oak High School in Temecula. She was the fourth-fastest 200 freestyler at the CIF-SS Division II championships last May, finishing in 1:51.07. That’s only 6/10 off the Wagner school record. Moore was also tenth in the 100 back (57.51) and led off Great Oak’s 200 free relay in 24.41. A club swimmer at Temecula Swim Club, Moore’s top times are:

Most of Moore’s best times come from last season, which is particularly impressive given that in 2013, she discovered she had broken her ankle. She had to undergo surgery and take a year off. Moore has made giant strides on the comeback trail over the past year; she should be in a position to make a big impact on the Seahawks’ results next fall.
