Versatile Dallas Mustang Tiffany Futscher will join Texas A&M

Tiffany Futscher, a butterflyer/backstroker with the Dallas Mustangs, has verbally committed to the Texas A&M Aggies for next season.

Futscher brings some great versatility to an Aggie program that is reloading its talent pool in a big way with the graduations of multiple stars last season and this coming spring.

“I never would have thought I would end up at A&M,” Futscher said, “but when I went on my recruiting trip, I just knew that that was the best place for me to improve my swimming abilities and grow as an individual. ”

Futscher also swims for Ursuline Academy High School in Dallas, Texas. She’s probably best in the 200 fly, but also brings excellent 200 back and 200 IM times to the table, and can swim down the 100-yard distances in both fly and back as well.

Futscher’s Top Times

  • 200 fly: 2:00.48
  • 100 fly: 55.72
  • 200 back: 2:01.19
  • 100 back: 56.49
  • 200 IM: 2:03.75

With multiple fast strokes, Futscher should be a big help in filling in for some of A&M’s departed swimmers. Cammile Adams became an NCAA champ training in College Station in the 200 fly, and Futscher’s backstroke could also help ease the loss of NCAA champ Paige Miller.

Despite the losses of those two and NCAA champ Breeja Larson, the Aggies are still on a roll this year, beating in-state rivals Texas and sitting atop the current CSCAA dual meet rankings.
