Vermont Women to Swim from New York to Vermont across Lake Champlain

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Several members of the Vermont women’s swimming & diving team are taking the challenge and swimming 3.76 miles from New York to Vermont across Lake Champlain this Sunday (Sept. 13) to help raise funds for the Lake Champlain Committee (LCC).

The race begins from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains at the Old Dock in the quaint town of Essex, New York and takes swimmers across Lake Champlain to the Charlotte public beach in the town of Charlotte, Vermont.
For over 50 years the Lake Champlain Committee has been the lead citizens’ voice for drinkable water, edible fish, and swimmable beaches. With the support of memberships and donations, LCC works to address the most pressing environmental issues facing the lake and to ensure public access to this wonderful public resource.
