The University of Southern California’s men took down the University of Utah yesterday with a 177-123 win on Utah’s senior day. The Trojans finished off the season with a 9-1 dual record.
USC sophomore Ralf Tribuntsov won a pair of individual titles in the 100 back and 100 fly, winning the 100 back in an NCAA ‘B’ cut season-best 47.15 and the 100 fly in 47.79.
He also swam the backstroke leg on the winning 200 medley relay, along with freshman Carsten Vissering, Alex Valente, and Kyle Grissom, which finished in 1:28.28.
Vissering took the title in the 100 breast in 55.42, and Valente added in his own win in the 200 fly in 1:48.69. Grissom took the 50 free in 20.65.
The Trojans also won the 400 free relay when Tim Wynter, Jon Knox, Valente, and Michael Domagala teamed up for 3:01.47.
Other USC wins came from Patrick Mulcare (100 free: 45.16), Wynter (200 back: 1:47.35), Steven Stumph (200 breast: 1:58.59),
Bence Kiraly had an amazing night for the Utes, winning double distance titles in the 1000 and 500 freestyles. He finished the 500 in 4:28.62 and the 1000 in 9:11.89.
Ute Josiah Purss won a pair of diving titles, scoring 371.33 in the 1 meter event and 386.93 in the 3 meter event.
Kristian Kron won the 200 free in 1:39.66, and Nolan Rogers won the 400 IM in 3:58.93.
The Trojans will try to defend their title against the Utes and the rest of the Pac-12 field March 2nd-5th in Federal Way, Washington.
