USA Men’s WP Remains Unbeaten At FINA Intercontinental Tournament

The USA Men’s National Team finished preliminary play undefeated at the FINA Intercontinental Tournament after beat China 14-2. Hannes Daube (Long Beach, CA/Orange Lutheran HS/Newport Beach) scored three goals to lead the offense with Drew Holland (Orinda, CA/Stanford/Lamorinda) and Alex Wolf(Huntington Beach, CA/UCLA/Bruin) combining for 11 saves in net. Team USA returns to action on Sunday in the gold medal match against Australia at 3:40am et/12:40am pt.  Live streaming is available by clicking here. Team USA took a 3-0 lead to start the match and went ahead 8-1 at halftime. They secured the victory in the third quarter outscoring China 4-0 to go ahead 12-1. Team USA tacked on two more goals in the final quarter for the 14-2 win. The United States went 5/9 on power plays and 1/1 on penalty shots with China going 0/6 on power plays and 0/1 on penalty shots.

USA Women 16 Japan 9
Auckland, New Zealand – April 6 – The USA Women’s National Team has advanced to the semifinals of the FINA Intercontinental Tournament following a 16-9 win over Japan. Jamie Neushul (Isla Vista, CA/Stanford/Santa Barbara 805) delivered a game high six goals in the win. Team USA opened up with a strong first quarter taking a 6-2 lead behind four goals from Jamie Neushul. They added six more in the second quarter to go ahead 12-4. Japan battled back in the third outscoring Team USA 4-1 to close the deficit to 13-8. The United States responded with three more goals in the fourth to take the match 16-9.
