UNC Wilmington Gains Versatile Meagan Johnson

Meagan Johnson, a senior at Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, has verbally committed to swim for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She will keep her talent in-state next fall, joining the Seahawks for the 2015-2016 season. “I fell in love with the campus, team, and coaches! Can’t wait to be a seahawk,” said Johnson.

Johnson is highly versatile, representing the Marlins of Raleigh. She specializes in fly, breast, distance-freestyle, and I.M. events. As a junior, she placed 17th in the 100 Fly and 14th in the 500 Free at the 2014 North Carolina 1A/2A High School State Championships.

Her 1650 and 500 Free are potential scoring events, as well as her 200 Breast. By the time she joins the Seahawks, Johnson may be able to score in multiple events, which will be valuable to her new team.
