BRIDGEPORT, Pennsylvania – The UC San Diego women’s water polo team was ranked tenth in the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) Preseason Poll. The Tritons pick up right where they left off a season ago when they finished tenth in the final poll of 2020.

All six Big West Schools competing in 2021 are ranked in the top 25, making the Big West one of the most competitive conferences in the country. UC Irvine (fourth) leads the way followed by Hawaii (fifth), UC Santa Barbara (ninth) UC San Diego, Long Beach (12th) and UC Davis (16th).

The Tritons went 13-7 last season and 1-1 in conference play. The 2020 season was highlighted by an upset win over then fourth ranked Berkeley and a fourth place finish at the Triton Invite.

Brad Kreutzkamp is in his 12th season as Head Coach of the Tritons and has a career record of 235-161.

The Tritons bring back a lot of talent from their 2020 team included Third-Team All-Americans Ciara Franke and Taylor Onstott and Honorable Mention All-American Jessee Ransone.

Games will be added to the Tritons’ 2021 schedule as details are finalized in today’s ever-changing landscape.
