U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) ne ongoing COVID-19 ki wajah se Thursday ko 2020 Summer Nationals Meet ka cancellation announce kar diya hai.
Ye event originally scheduled tha August 12-16 ke beech Richmond, Va, mei. Is competition ko cancel karne ka decision USMA aur SwimRVA ke local partners & Richmond Region Tourism ke saath milkar liya gaya. Initially ye meet USMS ki 50th anniversary celebration ke apart thi.
“Apne athletes, coaches, volunteers, fans, & staff ke caution ke abundance mei humne ye decide kiya ki ye action lena hi best hoga,” USMS ke CEO Dawson Hughes ne kaha. “Hum is time ka use hum apne local clubs aur coaches ko support karne mei karenge taaki swimming mei wapas aane ke liye safe aur productive return ensure kiya jaa sake.”
Northside ISD Aquatics and San Antonio Sports, jo slated the Spring National Championships 2020 ko host karne ke liye jo ki mid-March mei cancel ho gai thi use 2022 Spring meet ka award mila hai, wahi Richmond ne summer edition host karne ke liye agree kar diya hai.
“Hum bahot disappointed hai ki hume ye decision lena pad raha hai, but ye un swimmers ki safety ke liye best hai jo plan kar rahe hai is meet ko attend karne ka,” SwimRVA ke Executive Director aur Summer Nationals meet director Adam Kennedy ne kaha. “Hum aage ki dekh rahe hai USMS ke saath kaam karne ke liye 2022 Summer Nationals ko hamari historic city mei host karne ke liye.
Apne members ko competition mei return aane ke liye organization is saal ke last mei plan kar raha hai several USMS event host karne ka jisme first USMS virtual championship bhi include rahegi jo ki August mei hogi.
