Sarah Sjostrom stayed hot on the second and final day of action at the Swedish Grand Prix event, winning two more events with times that rank top-5 in the world this year.
Sjostrom swam the first and last event of the women’s line-up, opening and closing the meet with strong in-season performances.
The 20-year-old Swede first won the 100 free, going a 54.03 that now ranks 5th in the world for 2014. Sjostrom was dominant against the Grand Prix field, pushing out to a 1.5-second lead at the 50 turn and only extending things from there with a the field’s fastest back-half split by a longshot.
The 50 fly was equally dominating for Sjostrom. She put up just the second 25-second 50 fly of 2014, going 25.81 to only trail Denmark’s Jeannette Ottesen-Gray in the yearly world rankings. That was also enough to beat second-place Elise Naess Olsen of Norway by well over a second for the Grand Prix win.
