Trials Qualifier Lauren Green Verbals to Neighboring Stanford

San Jose, California’s Lauren Green has made a verbal commitment to swim for Stanford University beginning with the 2017-18 season.

“I chose Stanford University because it is the perfect place to grow both as a student and as an athlete. When I first stepped on campus, the coaching staff and swimmers immediately made me feel like I was a part of their family. The environment on the team is unrivaled, and I felt as though I fit in right away. I couldn’t be more excited to have chosen Stanford as my home for the next four years! Go Card!”

Green is a senior at Pioneer High School, whom she represented at the 2016 Central Coast Section Championships in May and won both the 200 free (1:47.12) and 100 fly (52.90). She also led off both Pioneer’s free relays (23.04 and 50.85 in the 4×50 and 4×100 free, respectively). As a sophomore she won the 100 free (50.05) and was runner-up in the 200 free (1:48.21) at CCS.

Green swims year-round under coaches Carrie Miller Mox and Andre Salles-Cunha at QuickSilver Swimming. She qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials in both the 50m free and 100m fly. Her top SCY times include:

  • 50 free – 22.70
  • 100 free – 49.99
  • 200 free – 1:47.12
  • 100 fly – 52.90
  • 200 fly – 1:59.51
  • 200 IM – 2:00.66

Green’s best 50 free and 200 free, and 100 fly times would have scored in the B finals at 2016 Pac-12 Championships; her 100 free, 200 fly, and 200 IM would have made the C final.
