VIDEO INTERVIEW: Thoughts on double-NAG session from Michael Andrew

Michael Andrew says he was a bit disappointed with his performances at the Austin Grand Prix leading up to the 50 free. But that event started the National Age Group record breakthrough for the 14-year-old, who tied the record then broke it about 10 minutes later in a time trial.

He shares his thoughts on and preparation for that race in this video interview.

Does this kid ever take a weekend off? It seems like he is at a meet every week of the year or close to it.

His travel expenses must be in the six figures or close to it on a yearly basis.

BTW, he is incredibly fast for a 14 year old and very big. When I was 14 I was about 5’2″ and 100 pounds soaking wet.

This “we” is what intrigues me about how MA talks about his swimming. “We had no idea we would be able to go…” Just interesting.

I’d heard that discussed here before…I think someone commented that Phelps liked to use we in interviews as well.
