Texas 6A 100 Fly Runner-Up Emily Reese Verbals to the Longhorns

Emily Reese of Magnolia Aquatic Club has elected to stay in-state, and has verbally committed to the University of Texas-Austin.

  • 200 free – 1:52.30

Reese is an Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100m fly, and adds IM and mid-distance free strength to her fly prowess. Swimming for the Woodlands High School, Reese was the Texas 6A HS runner-up in the 100 fly and placed 6th in the 200 IM. She also split a 24.86 fly on Woodlands’ 2nd place medley relay and led off their 2nd place 400 free relay.

At Texas, Reese will get to train with elite butterfliers Remedy RuleMimi Schneider and Lauren Case, along with fellow incoming freshman Victoria Edwards. Reese would’ve qualified for Big 12 A finals in the 100 fly, 200 IM, and 200 fly last season.
