Tennessee Aquatics Breast for Breasts Clinic for Cancer Support in Honor Kim Kredich

Tennessee Aquatics hosted a clinic called Breast for Breasts.  The idea was to raise money for breast cancer by inviting people from all over the community to participate in a breastroke clinic.  With the help of 2013 national team breastrokers Molly Hannis and Brad Craig as well as 2013 World Championship 200 breastroke bronze medalist, the event was a great success!

The event was in honor of Matt Kredich’s wife Kim who was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago.  Coach Kredich and Marshall Goldman led the breastrokers in a clinic that was followed by a 15 minute breastroke swim in support of the fight against breast cancer.  The clinic attracted  160 people ranging from 7 to 79 years of age.

The event was unique in the way it was run and included generous support from the University of Tennessee, Carson Newman swim team, and all of the local teams pulled together to raise money and support the community.  In total, including online donations, the event has raised fourteen thousand dollars. This is an astounding success considering the event went from idea to execution in three short weeks!

The event ended with a 100 breastroke relay race of Davis Tarwater (2012 Olympic gold medalist) and Brad Craig versus Molly Hannis and Micah Lawrence.

Breast for Breasts was an incredible event thanks to the entire swimming community’s  support and participation.
