Audrey Marcus of Santa Monica, California has announced her decision to swim at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts beginning in the fall of 2021. She is a senior at Santa Monica High School, and swims club with Team Santa Monica under the direction of coach Mohammad Khadembashi.

I feel tremendously grateful to join Coach Kristy Jones’ warm and well-coached team. I want to thank my all of my coaches, family, and friends for their support over the years. I look forward to next four years to continue to improve my times and contribute to the success of the team! Go Beavers!”
As a sophomore, Marcus won the 100 breast at 2019 League Championship and qualified for the CIF-Southern Section Division III Championships. At the D3 meet, she improved on her seed time and finished 27th in prelims (1:11.52). She also swam the breaststroke leg on Santa Monica’s 200 medley relay which placed 3rd in the final, setting a school record and qualifying for the CIF State Championships. Marcus’s 50 breast split of 30.93 was a personal best time.
Santa Monica High School was moved up from D3 to D2 during the truncated season of her senior year, but they still qualified the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Marcus swam legs on both relays. Her split on the 400 free relay was a PB (54.73) and helped the quartet break the school record (3:36.57) and finish in 6th place. Marcus also set a school record in the 100 breast (1:09.50) at the Bay League finals the week before CIF.

- 200 breast – 2:35.27
Marcus will join Babson in the fall of 2021 with times that would have scored at the 2020 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletics Conference Championships in the B finals of the 50 free and 100 breast. It took 2:33.74 to make it back in the 200 breast (the NEWMAC scores two 10-person finals).
