Kennedy only gained two hundredths from her semi swim, though, and she snuck ahead of Bilquist and Comerford for 2nd. Kennedy takes home $3,000, Bilquist $2,000 in her first meet post-college, and Comerford takes $1,000.
Margo Geer and Mallory Comerford were first and second to the wall in the first round, respectively. Both went 25-low, with Geer at 25.14 and Comerford at 25.18.
Margo Geer will battle with seven other women, including Olympians Mallory Comerford and Farida Osman, through three rounds of the 50 free this evening in Louisville.
Fratus just threw down a world-leading 21.47 at the 2019 Brazil Trophy in his second competition since shoulder surgery in September, while Geer is the defending champion from last year.
The fourth annual TYR Derby Pro Swim Weekend is set to kick off on Thursday, April 25th, 2019 with a Drowning Prevention Clinic at the Ralph Wright Natatorium in Louisville, Kentucky, with the TYR Derby Pro Swim Meet presented by Churchill Downs to follow.
Day 3 prelims kick off this morning with the 200 fly, 50 free, 100 back, 200 breast, 50 fly, and 400 free.
US National Teamer Madison Kennedy (above) teamed up with LaJoya Smith, Kerry Lindauer, and Erika Braun to break the USMS National Record in the 25+ 200 free relay.
Athletes will come together on Friday, April 26th to compete in the TYR Derby Pro Swim Meet presented by Churchill Downs., with 12 times Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte acting as event host.
