JOB DESCRIPTION
Atomic City Aquatic Club in Oak Ridge, TN seeks head swim coach.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
– Preferred experience as a head coach (senior and age group experience) as a USA certified swim club
– Ability to be flexible with all age groups and skill levels
– Certified ASCA level 3 coach or significant competitive experience
– Current USA Swimming coach certifications such as CPR, Red Cross Lifeguard certification, USA background check, First Aid
– Familiarity with Team Unify and Hy-Tek; knowledge and ability to manage social media programs
POOLSIDE RESPONSIBILITIES
– Prepare workout plans for all age levels and skill sets
– Develop practice schedules (including dry-land) for multiple groups at two separate locations
– Supervision of assistant coaching staff
– Meet planning and scheduling of coaches at away meets
– Assistance with management of home meets (board will supply a meet director)
– Management of athletes at meets including: warm-ups, relay lineup, communication with host teams
– Attendance of all meets and majority of practices as schedule allows
– Long term plan for stroke development in athletes with multiple skill levels
– Monitor weight training for senior group
– Understanding of season conditioning and taper schedules
CLUB RESPONSIBILITIES
– Serve as Executive Director on the board (voting member and conduit between the coaching staff and other board members)
– Open communication between parents, board members, and athletes
– Plan monthly coaches meetings
– Support and abide by club rules and policies

ABOUT ATOMIC CITY AQUATIC CLUB
Atomic City Aquatic Club (ACAC) is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee just outside of Knoxville. Our program was initially founded in 1951. We have enjoyed a history rich with tradition and look forward to continuing this legacy. Currently, we are looking for an inspiring and charismatic individual for our head coaching position. ACAC is a year-round USA swim club with a membership of 90-120 athletes. These include Junior National, Age Group and Senior Sectional Qualifiers. We service families from a wide geographical area, which includes Oak Ridge, Lenior City, west and north Knoxville. Our facilities include two 25-yard indoor pools, 25-meter and 100-meter outdoor pools. This is a year round, salaried position with the option for performance-based bonuses.
