The Swim Coaches Base Podcast, powered by RITTER, is quickly approaching 300 episodes. But many of the episodes from years’ past aren’t available prior to ones released this past year.

Each day, for the remaining days of 2019, RITTER Sports Performance will be releasing episodes from the vault. These will only be available until the end of the year and will be found exclusively on Apple Podcasts.

There are many great coaches that you may not have even realized were previously on the Swim Coaches Base Podcast.

Here’s are just some of the guests that are now available:

  • Kelly Kremer is the Head Coach for men’s and women’s swimming at the University of Minnesota. In 2015, led the Gopher women’s swimming and diving team to a fourth straight Big Ten title, becoming the first women’s program at the University of Minnesota to achieve four consecutive conference championships. Kremer is a five-time Big Ten Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year, receiving the honor in 2006 (with co-head coach Terry Ganley), 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. He has coached three NCAA breaststroke champions and multiple Olympians. Kremer became the first head coach of a combined University of Minnesota men’s and women’s swimming and diving program on April 12, 2011. He took on this role after 13 years as an assistant, associate head coach and co-head coach with the Gopher men’s and women’s teams. As an athlete, Kelly finished fifth in the 100 backstroke at the 1991 US Open and participated in the 1992 Olympic Trials in the same event. During his collegiate career, he was a 24-time NAIA National Champion and 29-time NAIA All-American for Drury University, and was elected to the school’s Sports Hall of Fame in the summer of 1997.
  • Rachel Stratton-Mills began coaching in the Cleveland area after spending 14 months traveling the United States. During this time she had the opportunity to observe and learn from over 60 different club and collegiate programs. She brought this expansive knowledge to the Cleveland Swim Institute along with her experience over the past 15 years. Prior to her sabbatical year, Coach Rachel was the head coach of Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (AGUA) in New York City. During her five years at AGUA she placed athletes on the US National Select Camp, US National Junior Team, US National Team plus the 2012 US Olympic Team. She began her professional coaching career as Head Coach of Team Santa Monica. Rachel believes that competitive swimming is a tool that should be used to teach athletes hard work, dedication and passion. Skills that last a lifetime.
  • Billy Doughty took over the DART (Davis) program in the fall of 2009. Since 2009, Coach Billy has been named 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 “SENIOR COACH OF THE YEAR” for Sierra Nevada LSC. In his time in Davis, the program has has produced multiple Olympic Trials qualifiers, multiple National and Junior National finalists, and put an athlete on the USA National Junior Team. The DART program has been awarded “Gold Medal” status in 2015, the “Silver Medal” in 2014 & 2013, and the “Bronze Medal” status in 2011 and 2012 from USA Swimming. Prior to Davis, Billy has served as the Head Coach for City of Mobile Swim Association and as Head Site Coach for Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics.
  • Ian Murray is the Head Coach at Dynamo Swim Club. Previously he was named the Associate Head Coach of Carmel Swim Club in September of 2013. Coach Murray works directly with the High Performance training group and is an assistant coach on the Carmel High School staff. In the past three years, Ian has coached athletes to the USA Swimming National Team and National Junior Team. His athletes have won individual National and Junior National titles. In addition, his swimmers have broken multiple National Age Group records and a World Junior Record. He recently served as the Head Coach of the USA Swimming Zone Select Camp and has also served on the staff of the National Select Camp. Ian has been a USA Swimming National Team Coach and was recognized by the American Swimming Coaches Association as a Coach of Excellence for 2015. Ian came to Carmel after six years on the staff of the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, where he was an Age Group and Senior Coach. While at Lake Erie, he worked with multiple members of the USA Swimming National Team, including an Olympic gold medalist. Coach Murray was the 2006 Lake Erie Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year. During this time, he also served on the staff of the Richard Quick/Stanford National Swim Camp, and was Head Coach of both the 2003 Ohio Mid-States QUAD Team and the 2004 Lake Erie Zone Team.
  • Matt Crispino was formerly the Director of Swimming at the College of William & Mary. During his decade as the Director of Swimming at William & Mary, he has led his alma mater to new heights and continues to make new strides as he leads the Tribe closer to national prominence. Crispino is the sixth mentor of the combined Tribe program, and the first alum to lead either W&M team since Keith Havens ’76 coached the men’s team from 1981-84. After nine complete seasons, Crispino has far out-paced any other coach since the teams combined in 1989 with a 113-78 record and a .592 winning percentage. All-time, he is the second-winningest coach in school history for each the men (48 wins) and the women (65 wins), trailing only legends Dudley Jensen (171 wins in 33 seasons) and Christina Jackson (77 wins in 12 seasons). He became the second 100-meet winner all-time on Senior Day in 2015, when the Tribe men knocked off longtime-rival East Carolina. Crispino returned to his alma mater in 2007 after five years in the assistant coaching ranks. His previous stop was at Colgate University for the 2006-07 season, where he served as the assistant coach for both men’s and women’s teams. Prior to Colgate, he spent three years on the deck at West Point as the assistant coach for both men and women. Crispino got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at Florida State University, where he worked with several athletes who counted NCAA, U.S. National, and Olympic Trials bids among their accomplishments. The captain and Most Valuable Swimmer of the 2001-02 Tribe men’s swimming team, Crispino helped set the school record in the 800 free relay as a freshman at the CAA Championships, with a time of 6:47.85. In his rookie season, the team placed second at the conference meet after going 15-1 (6-0 CAA) during the regular season. Crispino received his bachelor’s of arts in government from the College in 2002, and his master’s in physical education from Florida State in 2003.
  • Kevin Weldon is the Head Coach for the Dayton Raiders. He returned to Dayton, Ohio, in 1989 as the Raiders Head Coach after competing as an age group/teenager for the Dayton Dolphins in the late 70’s/early 80’s. Kevin is a Level 5 ASCA Member as well as a USA Swimming National Team Member Coach. Under his guidance, the club has grown from 50 to over 200 year round swimmers. As Head Coach, Kevin has led one of the top USA-Swimming clubs in the country that can compete not only at the local and regional level, but also at the national and international level. This is evidenced as the Dayton Raiders were nationally recognized as a USA Gold Medal Club – 2 years in a row; a distinction only reserved for the top 20 clubs nationally. Kevin’s many accomplishments include leading the Dayton Raiders to the 2012 Men’s USA Junior National Team Champions, the only time in history Dayton has won a National title. Additionally, Kevin has coached numerous individual Junior & Senior National Champions, several National Age Group Champions and Record Holders, American Record Holder, two Olympic Trial Finalists and numerous Ohio High School Champions and Record Holders. Kevin has also been honored 10 times as the Ohio Senior Coach of the year as well as 2013 NCSA Junior National Coach of the Year.
  • Scott Colby has been a Sport Performance Consultant for USA Swimming since August of 2007. Prior to that, Scott coached in Ohio, Louisiana (Bengal-Tiger Aquatic Club), Texas (Fort Worth Area Swim Team), served as an assistant at Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta and coached for 5 years at a YMCA on Long Island. His swimmers have placed in finals at Olympic Trials, won 2 National titles and 7 Junior National titles including all four strokes, set three National Age Group Records, and won the National Meet Bob Kiputh High Point award. Scott has also produced numerous Top 16 athletes. He holds a Masters degree in Physical Education and is an ASCA Level 5 coach.
  • Erika Braun is a current multiple FINA Masters Swimming world record holder and two-Olympic Trials qualifier from Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition to her maintaining a busy career as Director of Human Resources with Golden Corral Corporation, she makes a splash in the swimming world. At age 43, Erika swims competitively in both U.S. Masters and USA-Swimming where she regularly competes against swimmers more than half her age.
