…USC’s Stina Gardell has finally been named to the Swedish Olympic Team for the 2012 games in London. The latest list released by the Swedish Olympic Committee today includes 5 new swimmers: Stefan Nystrand, Stina Gardell, Ida Marko-Varga, Gabriella Fagundez, and Michelle Coleman. That brings the lineup to 9, adding to Therese Alshammar, Sarah Sjostrom, Jennie Johansson, and Martina Granstrom, who were previously added to the squad. For Gardell, this was a stressful journey, and it took no-fewer-than 4 National Record breaking swims in the past few months to officially earn her ticket.
