The Spartans Aquatic Club in Georgia has broken yet another National Age Group Record, with the latest coming in the men’s 200 meter medley relay at the Georgia LSC Championship meet.

There the group of Nathaniel Stoffle (25.69), Preston Lin (29.13), Peter Sacca (25.21), and Colton Mcgrady (22.74) combined for a 1:42.77 on Saturday morning.

That breaks the 17-18 National Age Group Record of 1:42.98 done at the 2019 Pacific Northwestern Swimming LSC Championships by a relay from the Bellevue Club Swim Team.

Splits Comparison:

Back Nathaniel Stoffle (18) – 25.69
James Richardson (18) – 26.97
Breast Preston Lin (17) – 29.13
Ethan Dang (17) – 28.20
Fly Peter Sacca (18) – 25.21
Raf Barreto (18) – 25.03
Free Colton McGrady (17) – 22.74
Matt King (17) – 22.78
Final Time – 1:42.77
Final Time – 1:42.98

That former record-setting relay has a few recognizable names on it, including Matt King, who was one of the fastest freshman sprinters in history in his first collegiate season last year at Alabama, before announcing his recent transfer to Virginia.

With Preston Lin swapped in on the breaststroke leg for John Beamon, this is otherwise the same relay that on Friday broke the National Age Group Relay Record in the 200 free relay as well. In total, the Spartans Aquatic Club holds 6 National Age Group Relay Records.

The broader 15-18 record remains at 1:42.46. That swim was done by the Mason Manta Rays in 2019, when Carson Foster, Jake Foster, Jacob McDonald, and Carl Bloebaum combined for the fastest junior swim in US history. Because Bloebaum was only 15 at the time, the swim was not eligible for the 17-18 record.
