Slovakia To Send 12 To European Championships In London

2016 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Slovak Swimming Federation has announced a team of 12 swimmers they’ll be sending to the European Championships being held in London, with the swimming portion of the event beginning Monday.

The roster is as follows:

Males (5): Marek Botik, Pavol Jelenak, Matej Kuchar, Richard Nagy and Tomas Puchly.

Females (7): Karolína Hajkova, Lucia Ledererova, Katarina Listopadova, Barbora Misendova, Andrea Podmanikova, Miroslava Syllabova and Karin Tomeckova.

They have also named three coaches: Lubos Krizko, Miroslav Machovic and Matus Putala.

Among the men Richard Nagy is the top billed swimmer, coming off two top-16 finishes at the 2015 World Championships. Nagy placed 12th in the 400 IM and 13th in the 1500 free. Nagy is entered in six events in London, with his top seedings coming in the 800 free (9th), 400 IM (10th), and 1500 free (12th).

The top performer on the women’s side in Kazan was Katarina Listopadova, who had her top finish in the 50 back (18th). Listopadova is seeded in the top-16 in both the 100 fly (8th) and the 100 back (13th).
