2018 BERGEN SWIM FESTIVAL

The 2018 Bergen Swim Festival is set for this weekend in Norway, with several European standouts expected to race, including several Norwegian stars.

Sweden’s Sarah Sjöström, world record holder, is the headlining name. Just this past weekend at the Stockholm Open, Sjöström found her way to several meet titles. German distance specialist Sarah Kohler also raced last weekend in Stockholm, and she’s expected to race this weekend after recently breaking the German 1500 free record. Belgian sprinter Pieter Timmers, the 2016 Rio 100 free silver medalist, is set to race, too, along with German IMer Philip Heintz.

Norwegian standouts Susann BjørnsenTomoe Hvas Zenimoto, and Henrik Christiansen are also slated to compete this weekend.

According to the meet page, each event win comes with a prize of 1,000 EU, and some nations treat this meet as a qualifier for the 2018 European Championships.
