St. Bonaventure’s Viacheslav Shchukin has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. Awards were based off performances from Dec. 2-8.

Shchukin, a sophomore from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, broke a meet and pool record en route to a first-place finish in the 100-yd freestyle at the Zippy Invitational with a time of 43.66. He was also a member of the 200-yd free relay team (1:22.32) and the 400-yd free relay team (3:00.91) that both captured first-place finishes along with breaking meet records. Shchukin would also record first-place finishes in the 50-yd freestyle (20.59), the 400-yd medley relay (3:21.37) and the 800-yd freestyle relay (6:54.15).

The Bonnies will be back in action on January 5th when they compete at the NTC Classic against Gannon University, Lynn University and Notre Dame College.
